If you’re not familiar with hoop sizing, let me tell you a bit more about it….
- Heavyweight hoops are helpful for a beginner tackling waist hooping. They are also typically the easiest hoops to use to find a core waist hooping rhythm, especially if the diameter is large. Heavy hoops are also helpful for individuals with slower body movement rhythms, and for the bodaciously built.
- Medium weight hoops are a great place to start if your body flow is naturally a bit quicker. With a medium weight hoop, you get the best of both worlds, (on body and off body) as a beginner hooper. Tackling tricks is a bit lighter compared to working in a heavy hoop, where you will definitely feel the weight.
- Lightweight hoops require more body work in order to maintain the spinning hoop. Also, they are typically used by more experienced hoopers for quicker moves done off the body. Some people can begin with a lightweight hoop, others can not. It is unique to each individual!
